Thank you Urbane Cyclist!
I picked up some safety flags from Urban Cyclist today. What a great store: http://www.ucycle.com/
Found out about some great bikes (recumbent) that can be easily retrofitted to accommodate various peoples’ needs. For instance, pedal assists (or a motor) can be added to this device. This is handy for windy days, hilly roads as well as for people with disabilities. For people who can’t use both hands, brakes and shifters can be moved to one side of the bike. Since these bikes have 3 wheels, they are terrific for people needed extra balance support. Quote “Even if your physical condition improves you can still ride this bike”.
According to one of their store experts, these bicycles are very comfy and enjoyable to ride: Another great example of universal design in practice!
